Fertility
"When my husband and I walked into The Wahls of Wellness office, we were looking for anything that could help us get pregnant and stay pregnant. By that time, we went through one invitro fertilization attempt that failed, a “spontaneous” pregnancy with a miscarriage at 11 weeks, 2 infertility specialists and three artificial inseminations, two of which failed.  It was during the injection phase of our third artificial insemination attempt that I started acupuncture at The Wahls of Wellness. Two weeks later we found out that we were pregnant.

Dr. Wahl and his wife, Beverly, were wonderful throughout the entire pregnancy and afterwards. I had continued with weekly acupuncture in order to maintain the pregnancy. Because of our previous miscarriage, the maintenance program was extremely important to us. The entire pregnancy progressed without any complications. I even worked at a job that required me to be on my feet all day long until I delivered at 40 weeks. We anticipate returning to The Wahls of Wellness when we try again.

Arthritus
"I could have danced all night, I could have danced all night and still would beg for more”…from My Fair Lady, a memory of my youth.

When I started in treatment at the Wahls of Wellness, I asked Beverly Wahl if I can dance at my nephew’s wedding in July which was four months away and she said "yes we have time". A year ago, I became weak, had a lack of energy to do all the activities I used to do. Even more than that was the inability I had to walk any distance and my balance was off. I had pain all over me which dampened my optimism to exercise. I did not want the prescribed pain killer that would saturate my system. Acupuncture reduced the pain and I was able to do exercise classes. I can now use the weight lifting machine.

My problem is complex. I have some nerve damage in my head where 2 strokes occurred and there was arthritis degeneration of my left hip joints. We know the body can heal itself if given a proper environment to heal. With pain, we can not perform activities to help ourselves. Thanks to Dr. Ian and Beverly Wahl, whatever they did, whether it was acupuncture, cold laser, essential oil therapy, cupping, but most of all their soothing reassurance that I will feel better, it worked on my psyche and gave me the determination to push through. Without the nagging pain from my hip, I am able to think clearly and determine what is good for me. I will be able to travel with my husband to places I visited in my 20’s. My husband was very supportive of my healing treatments at the Wahls of Wellness and even took off from work every week to take me to my appointments. When I first went to Dr. Aaron I did so just to see what he had to say.  I must say it was at first just in humor and to find out what a Chiropractor was all about.  I had had some lower back pain on and off but figured it’s a part of life.  You see, my grandmother had back pain and so did my father at times.  Upon going to Dr. Aaron he addressed the problem right away with some miner adjustments.  As time goes on there has been times when I walked in the office had some back pain and felt tired and stressed out and then I left felt like I was lighter and had some energy back.  I don’t always tell him when there is a problem, but he seems to be able to pin point it in his examination which I’ve told him he surprised me at being able to hone in on my lower back pain and when I’m having stiffness in my neck.  Dr. Aaron has helped me a great deal and I would send others to him for treatment. Pain and Digestive Problems
"I’ve had acupuncture before with positive results, so when I was troubled by pain, digestive problems and a multitude of other symptoms, I decided to try it again.  Dr. Wahl was very detailed in his analysis of my problems and recommended 1 year of sessions.  After about 8 weeks, my shoulder pain is just about gone, and we are making very good progress on the other symptoms, as well as treating any new symptoms that arise.  The entire staff here are so friendly and welcoming that, despite a slight fear of needles, I look forward to every session." Diabetes and High Blood Pressure
"Less than a year ago I was a walking time bomb.  With adult onset diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, it was no wonder I was depressed so much.  Then, in my opinion, God’s angels guided me here to Dr. Wahl and Bev.  With their help and the wonderful staff they have, I began to heal.  I started coming in March ‘07 and now, in September ‘07 my blood pressure is normal, my cholesterol is great, and my diabetes is under control.  I can “feel” again, that is for example today I took a walk with my puppy outside and enjoyed the turning of the fall leaves and my puppy was happy because mommy has more energy.  My husband and family see the difference from my acupuncture treatments, and I am very grateful to Ian and Bev for their wonderful gift of healing.  My internist can’t believe the difference.  The “twinkle” is back in my life thanks to the Wahls of Wellness." Perforated Eardrum
"I am a competitive swimmer that spends HOURS everyday in the pool.  Unfortunately, I had an accident that resulted in the perforation of my eardrum.  After a severe infection, the perforation was a approximately 50% of my eardrum (that is huge).  When you have a hole in your eardrum, you cannot get your ear wet.  This meant no swimming (despite my best efforts to find a way to keep my ear dry and I was forced out of my sport.  After three months of “no-healing” waiting, an operation to close the hole was looking eminent.  This was the last option that I wanted to take because it would have been the end of all physical exercise for me for at least 2 months.  AND, that is if the procedure worked.  A week before the operation was to be scheduled, someone referred me to Dr. Ian Wahl.  Dr. Ian was very confident that he could help me and prescribed Acupuncture, assisted by some amazing “flesh growing” pills.  These pills were so powerful that within the first 36 hours of taking them I noticed the noises I had been hearing in my injured ear disappear completely.  Three months after starting my treatment with Dr. Ian, the ear specialist said that I had a totally healthy eardrum.  I find it funny that “traditional medicine” doctors dismiss alternative medicine as nonsense, yet say to me, “Wow, your body is really good at healing itself”, as if it was by accident or magic.  They simply will not acknowledge the power of alternative medicine.  I thank Wahls of Wellness and everyone there (Dr. Ian and his wife especially) for getting me back into the pool.  I could not have done it without them, period.

Hip Dysplasia  
"I was born with hip dysplasia that was corrected by surgery when I was 12 years old and until recently has no problem. In recent years, I have experienced lower back pain, limited mobility and pain in the hip area which forced me to walk with a cane.  I had a confirmed diagnosis of osteoarthritis in my hip last fall. I was told I was too young for a hip replacement and the risks involved were too great even if I found a doctor to perform it.  I was told that all I could do was manage the pain with medication and a cane. Before coming for treatment, I would lie around all day because the pain was so severe. 

A good friend of mine recommended acupuncture and raved about it so I decided to go for a consultation to The Wahls of Wellness. After the first treatment, I noticed a difference. I have been going for 5 months now and haven’t had any bad days since I started treatment. I was even able to sit for 4 hours on an airplane and get up with no pain after. I was also able to participate in a fund raiser walk and was able to complete 3 miles. I could not have done these activities last year before starting treatment. Osteoarthritis

Neck and Back Pain

Limited Range of Motion & Chronic Cough
I had won a massage package at The Wahls of Wellness practice.  Before I could start the massage I was examined by Dr. Aaron Wahl.  At that time my right arm was very sore and stiff, and I had limited range of motion.  I also had a cough that wouldn’t go away.  My internist had offered me many medical options (prescriptions), and I was not happy with those options.  After several chiropractic treatments, I was able to move my arm better and the soreness was much less, if not gone completely.  Also the cough disappeared.  I feel much better overall." Anxiety and Sinus Headaches
How can I begin to tell you what a positive experience this has been for me. My initial goal was to relieve the anxiety that had bothered me most of my adult life. Along with the anxiety abating, I no longer have sinus headaches which had become a constant for me. Another quirk I noticed is that the amount of floaters in my eyes has diminished to almost nothing-amazing. I whole heartedly recommend coming to the Wahls of Wellness for everyone.

Depression
I am a firm believer in the fact that everything happens and people are put in your life for a reason. I found Dr. Ian and Beverly Wahl at exactly the time I needed them for a service that has changed my life.

After four years on antidepressants I got to a point that I knew I did not want to live my entire life medicated. However, I wanted to lead a life free of depression. In my research on the best ways to get off of antidepressants and treatments for depression, acupuncture kept coming up. In a late-night search I came across the Wahls of Wellness website and knew immediately that is where I needed to be. My problem with antidepressants was that it only masked my depression issue; it in no way treated the root of my problem. That was one of the first things I read on their website and I knew the Wahls of Wellness was about to make a major change in my life.

My first meeting with Dr. Ian was an experience in itself. He actually took time talking to me! And a lot of it! He listened to what I had to say, asked me questions and educated me on acupuncture. With my medical doctor's guidance and the treatments of acupuncture and herbs, I went off of the medication slowly as I began treatments in January of 2007. At my first session, I remember lying on the table during the acupuncture treatment and experiencing the most incredible feeling of my own energy moving and changing inside my body.

By March I was feeling better and more like myself off of the medication that I ever had felt when I was on it, which is a direct reflection of the acupuncture treatments I was receiving. Many months later as I was finishing my treatments, I took an evaluation of myself and I realized I had become a new person. I was a person living a happy life, free of medication and free of depression. I was a person that other people enjoyed being around! People were telling me they "liked my positive energy". Before as a depressed person, people did not say that to me. It is in those moments that I realized how far I had come.

In addition to the medical effects of the acupuncture treatments, I cannot say enough about the healing and love I felt from Dr. Ian and Beverly. The therapeutic effect of that alone was worth the treatment. In their office you are free to come as you are, you can cry, laugh, talk or just be quiet and they understand. They treat you with love and compassion and never judge. I have walked away from every treatment feeling completely uplifted.

Since my experience with acupuncture, I have recommended treatment and the Wahls of Wellness to everybody I know. My experience with acupuncture, Dr. Ian, Beverly and the staff has truly changed my life in ways that Western medicine never could.
